Dye Experiment – Part 2

Attempting to match the yarns with a second batch of dye

I was sailing away knitting Reyna by Noora Buckland, a free pattern on Ravelry https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/reyna (Thank you Noora for giving of your time and inspiration freely to other knitters) when I ran out of the mohair yarn and had half a ball of the Chroma left. I took a deep breath and dyed another ball – AND I am very pleased with the outcome. They match pretty well, don’t you think, for a novice dyer?

When I took the scarf off the needles my heart fell as it looked like I had a neck scarf – and I had really hoped it would be a shoulder covering shawl. Unfortunately I did’t think to photograph it at that stage, but with the miracle of blocking, ta da – it grew into this.

Weather and Covid-19 self isolating permitting, I hope to have a photo of the scarf being used at some time. Needless to say I am very happy with the outcome. The mohair did have the effect I was hoping it would, and blended the colours in the Chroma very well.
